PANS, Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome, and PANDAS, Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Syndrome associated with Streptococcus (a subset of PANS), are both under the umbrella of auto-immune encephalitis and can be triggered by an infection in the body, outside stressors that throw the immune system into disregulation, metabolic disruptions, other inflammatory reactions in the body, and can mirror many symptoms of ASD but usually has an onset of symptoms at 3 years or older. Indications that PANS/PANDAS may be a concern are: sudden onset of anxiety/ separation anxiety, presence of OCD, tics, developmental regression, severe irritability and/or aggression, emotional lability, onset of bed wetting, sleep issues, sensory and/or motor abnormalities.
Autism (ASD), is another diagnosis that can come with a host of co-morbid health concerns and inflammatory markers that can be the cause of a myriad of sensory differences and other various symptoms. We've seen diagnoses be reversed and symptoms greatly reduced, even eliminated by targeting an individuals health needs.
These are just a couple conditions and there are so many more diagnoses, chronic conditions, and symptoms that can be greatly helped, even eliminated by addressing the underlying health concerns. Our goal is and will remain, to get families to their healthiest state so they are able to live the life God has intended.
Bioindividuality, in the context of health, refers to the concept that each person is unique in their biological makeup, which influences their health, responses to treatment, and overall well-being. This perspective emphasizes that factors such as genetics, metabolism, microbiome composition, and lifestyle choices can significantly vary from one individual to another. As a result, what works as an effective treatment for one person may not necessarily be suitable or effective for another. Understanding medical bioindividuality encourages practitioners to consider personalized approaches tailored to the specific needs and characteristics of each person. This can involve customizing dietary recommendations, protocols, and therapeutic interventions based on an individual's unique biological and environmental context, ultimately paving the way for more effective and targeted health solutions.
